Effects of the Self-efficacy of Mental Health Social Worker Trainees and Perception of Supervisory Style on the Performance of Supervision - Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Supervisory Relationship

Abstract
This research studies whether the self-efficacy of mental health social worker trainees or supervisory style directly affect or indirectly affect, through supervisory relationship, the performance of supervision. In order to achieve this goal, 339 second-level mental health social worker trainees were surveyed. According to the analysis result, the self-efficacy of trainees have indirect effects on supervision satisfaction, and have direct and indirect effects on empowerment. Second, performance-oriented supervision have direct effects on supervision satisfaction, but does not affect empowerment. Third, the supervisor¡¯s sensitivity have direct and indirect effects on supervision satisfaction, but only directly affects empowerment. Lastly, the favorableness of the supervisor have direct and indirect effects on supervision satisfaction, but only indirectly affects empowerment. The supervisor¡¯s sensitivity has the largest effect on supervision satisfaction, and the trainees¡¯ self-efficacy has the largest affect on empowerment. Based on such results, the study proposed implication for the effective supervision system for training social workers.
